Knitting for beginners week 1 bunnyBased on a simple square of knitting, we will make this cute bunny. It is very simple to make but will cover all the basics. And you end up with a lovely gift for a small person, or a cute pin cushion for yourself.

This session will cover: Casting on, Casting off, Knit stitch, Purl stitch, Combining Knit and purl to create a texture pattern, sewing up your project. If you have time, you will add a face and pompom tail to your bunny.

I will provide tea, coffee, biscuits and the wool and stuffing to make your bunny

Knitted mug wrapWEEK TWO

Building on your new skills, this week we will make a cosy mug wrap.

This session will cover: Purl stitch, Ribbing, Button holes and Shaping.

I will provide tea, coffee, biscuits and the wool and materials you need to make one mug wrap.

Having mastered the basics, we will make a lovely leaf shaped coaster.  If you go on to make more from this pattern, they look lovely joined together as a garland. As well as practising your new skills, this session will cover: Increasing, Decreasing and following a pattern.

I will provide tea, coffee, biscuits and the wool to make one or two leaves.

Each week, you will need a pair of 4mm knitting needles, ideally metal and 25cm long. (You can use plastic or longer ones, but I think short metal needles are easier to manage). If you don’t have any, I will have some available to buy on the day (£2.60 per pair).
